Q-Fog launches the next generation of the mobile residential sprinkler

Since 2007, Q-Fog has delivered nearly 3,000 mobile residential sprinklers to the Nordics and the Netherlands. Far more than 300 activations have taken place, which means that very many lives have been saved and large amounts of extensive damage to buildings have been prevented. After several years of development work, Q-Fog is now launching the next generation of its portable residential sprinkler with many improvements. Q-Fog 2.0 can protect up to 5 rooms from the same base unit, which means that an apartment with 3 rooms and a kitchen can be fully protected in a cost-effective way. Other improvements include a built-in battery backup and a communication module that handles service, technical and fire alarms. In addition, the installation has been made easier since the unit is powered by a standard, monitored plug, which simplifies the possibility of moving the units between different residences when desired.

“Fire protection for those most at risk in our society needs to be strengthened and it therefore feels very good to now be able to launch Q-Fog 2.0 which further improves the conditions for saving lives in the event of residential fires” says Fredrik Lindberg, CEO of Q-Fog

Q-Fog 2.0 detects both smoke and heat and extinguishes with the help of water mist in time to save lives where the fire occurs. Since only 10-20% of the amount of water is used compared to traditional sprinklers, the costs for cleaning and the risk of secondary moisture damage are also reduced.

“For people with limited ability to evacuate themselves, an automatic and smoke-activated fire protection system is needed if the home environment is to be a safe place. Q-Fog 2.0 is a safe and effective solution that saves lives and money” concludes Fredrik.
